NOTE: These instructions assume that the main teacher for your school's theatre program has already created a school profile on Show Up. If you are the main teacher and have not yet completed those steps, follow these instructions:
Download the Show Up app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. You will find it under its full title: "Show Up Theatre Management."
Open the app
Tap the sign up link at the very bottom of the screen, below the Sign In button.
Enter your email address and tap Send One Time Password.
Go to your email inbox and look for the message from Show Up with your 4 digit code. Enter the code into the Show Up app and tap submit. If you do not see an email from us, first try refreshing your email inbox. You can also try looking in your Spam folder. If you use Gmail, you may want to look in your Promotions or Social tabs. You may need to use a personal email address if your school or organization filters external messages from your professional email account.
Under "Sign up as," select Teacher. Fill in your information and be sure to check the box agreeing the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Then, tap the Signup button. Note: You will be asked for your date of birth to ensure that we are in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule ("COPPA").
You will see a dialogue box asking if you are setting up a new school in Show Up or joining an existing school's account. Tap "Join a School."
Find your school, select it by tapping the radio button next to it, and tap the Request to Join button.
You will see a dialogue box instructing you to complete your personal profile. Tap Ok!.
Complete your profile. Be sure to add a profile picture so that other users can recognize you on the app. Tap Save Changes at the bottom of the screen when you are finished. You may not want to fill in your phone number unless you want it to be visible to your students, their parents, and your colleagues.
IMPORTANT: You will see a dialogue box telling you that you can now begin using Show Up. THIS IS AN ERROR in the current version of the app. We are working on correcting it. You actually CANNOT use the app until the main teacher on your school's account approves you. Tap Let's Go, CLOSE THE APP, and do not attempt to use it until you are notified that your request to join your school has been approved.
Once you are cleared to use the app as a teacher at your school, you will receive a push notification that looks like the one below. Once you receive that notification, feel free to open and use Show Up.
